UFO did a 180

Late one summer night in 1982 a friend and I were out in the yard with his telescope as we often did then. We both have a pretty good knowledge of astronomy and associated phenomenon and consider ourselves capable of identifying such things for what they really are. And have recognized many over the years that had others calling authorities.

We were watching with the naked eye what appeared to be just another sattelite making its slow long trek across the sky. They are always more visible in the summer months when the sun is positioned better to reflect off of them. But as this "sattelite" approached Deneb, the brightest star in the constellation Cygnus, it appeared to slingshot around the star 180 degrees and take off in the opposite direction at amazing speed and just disappeared.

No craft of earth can do what this object did! I would have suspected a sprite or ball lightning high up but it was an absolutely cloudless night. I have seen sattelites release gas to create artificial auroras and a Soyuz capsule undocking from the Mir space station trailing our Space Shuttle. As well as the space station and other various bolides, fireballs, meteors and the like. But for the life of me this one object remains a UFO. We could not and still have not yet come to a conclusion.
